One can only assume that Sony had a major PS5 reveal event planned before this whole COVID-19 thing happened. Aside from the specs and the reveal of the new Dualsense controller, we haven’t seen or heard much else regarding the next-gen console. Today, a press release was issued for the next-gen racer Dirt 5 that indicates when we can expect to have the PS5 in our homes.
This shows that the PS5 is expected to be available this October which would get the console out in the wild in time for Christmas. The current release information from Sony is Holiday 2020 so this makes perfect sense. Microsoft showed off some gameplay of Xbox Series X games earlier today so I expect we will finally see something from Sony very soon.
