At long last the next game in the Mortal Kombat franchise has been announced and from the announcement trailer it looks like the most brutal to date.
Announced last night at the 2018 Game Awards, Mortal Kombat 11 is set to be released globally on April 23, 2019 for the PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch and PC.
“It’s exciting to finally announce Mortal Kombat 11 and showcase what the team has been working on,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios. “Our Custom Character Variation System opens up an infinite amount of options for players to personalize their favorite fighters. We can’t wait until January when we’ll be showing more of the game.”
The new trailer also features an original track from hip-hop artist 21 Savage. The track is titled “Immortal” and fans may remember a song by the same name that was featured in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.
