Konami made a promise to the legion of Metal Gear fans worldwide that they would continue the franchise after the departure of its creator and director Hideo Kojima. Konami’s first attempt at keeping that promise is Metal Gear Survive which is actually closer to an expansion of Metal Gear Solid V than a new game.
Metal Gear Survive takes place just after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Motherbase has been compromised and after the attack the kick starts the events of The Phantom Pain, a wormhole opens up and transports survivors to an alternate reality. Players must find a way back home by using familiar stealth skills and all-new survival mechanics to survive waves of zombie-like enemies and gather food, water and other resources.
