PlayStation 4 System Update 4.50 Beta Begins

The beta for the upcoming PS4 system update codenamed Sasuke is live so check your emails if you previously registered to participate. If you are not selected to participate, Sony has revealed some of the bigger features of update 4.50. Here are some of the best:

External Hard Drive Support

Update 4.50 will allow users to connect an external HDD to the PS4 for even more storage. The HDD must be USB 3.0 and drives of up to 8TB are supported.

Custom Wallpapers

Soon your PS4 will catch up with…the PS3 as this feature will allow you to use your screenshots taken via the share button and use them as home screen backgrounds.

3D Blu-Rays via PSVR

One of the coolest new additions is the ability to use the PlayStation VR to watch 3D blu rays.

There are even more feature (some have not even been announced yet) and I’ll go into them in more detail after I play around with all of the new settings a bit more.
