‘Cloaked in Silence’ Coming To Metal Gear Online

Konami will be releasing a new DLC campaign to Metal Gear Online next month titled Cloaked in Silence. MGSV fans will recognize that as the title of the mission where players can take on the deadly sniper Quiet in The Phantom Pain. Well as the name suggests Quiet will be added as a playable character and her unique abilities are coming with her. Players will be able to use her speed and and unique jumping ability to quickly access areas that would normally require the use of a ladder.

Cloaked in Silence will also add three new maps to MGO:

  • Coral Complex: A dedicated Motherbase environment, allowing players to access tall towers and use storage containers and other internal areas as cover for tactical advantage. Coral Complex mixes open areas and a myriad of hiding opportunities
  • Rust Palace: Set within Afghanistan, the Rust Palace is a large multi-level building. The skeletal nature of the decrepit ruin means that cover is scarce, while the internal areas are rich in dusty rooms and high-up sniping positions
  • Azure Mountain: An outdoor plain under Africa’s baking sky. A small cluster of buildings offers scant cover, with only derelict walls and occasional scrubland surrounding the massive rock known locally as the Cradle of Spirits

Another new feature called Appeal Action will also be added. This will allow players to select up to five different poses for their in-game characters.

Cloaked in Silence will be available for $3.99 along with four Appeal Action packs for $1.99 each in March.

In addition to the Cloaked in Silence pack, Konami will also release a free update that includes a new mission type: Sabotage. In Sabotage attackers must destroy or fulton an enemy missile before the round expires; but to access the missile, attackers must first hack into the Terminals to deactivate the Electromagnetic Barrier that is protecting it. Once the Terminals are hacked and the EM Barrier is deactivated, defenders can choose to reactivate the Barrier or protect the Missile.
