BadLand Games and Tequila Works have teamed up to bring gamers a full retail release of its upcoming PS4 title The Sexy Brutale: Full House Edition.
The Sexy Brutale for those of you that have never heard of it is NOT whatever it is that came to your mind when you read the title of this article. The Sexy Brutale is actually the name of a casino mansion where a masked ball is taking place. During the course of the ball several murders take place and you (in the role of a priest named Lafcadio Boone) must solve these crimes by midnight. The game also has a Groundhog Day style twist to it as the day repeats itself until “all the mansion’s dark secrets are revealed.”
Fallout 4 has received the much anticipated and very needed PS4 Pro update that Bethesda has been promising. While the new update is not quite the high-resolution texture pack that was recently made available on PC (thanks Sony, thanks), it does give players a much prettier sandbox to play in.

The prequel to the long running and best selling Yakuza series was released this week and I am still seeing everything that Yakuza 0 has to offer. There is a lot more here than what you see on the surface so instead of rushing through the game to get the review out on launch day, I am going to delve even deeper and deliver the full review here next week.
I will say that so far I am really impressed with Sega’s latest outing into the Japanese underworld. While there is a lot of focus on hand to hand combat there is a really heavy focus on story which I have really started to get into.

Greetings gamers! We gather here today to celebrate the latest chapter of the Fate/ story line! This time though, instead of fighting a new Holy Grail War, the object is to wrap up remaining business from the old one. While this isn’t the first time an entry in the series has been a continuation instead of the start of something (relatively) new, it’s been a decent while since the last game in the series came out that didn’t begin at the start of a new war.

While I am a fan of the Resident Evil series I have never actually considered them to be “scary” as a lot of other fans do. Sure zombies dogs suddenly jumping through windows is startling but that’s about it. I have always looked at the series as more of a gruesome action game than actually scary. Recent entries in the series (namely 5 and 6) did more to make Resident Evil more of an action game with fights inside of volcanos, unrealistically muscular characters and yes boulder punching (Resident Evil 5, I can’t make this stuff up). It is safe to say that over the years Resident Evil has strayed far away from its original survival horror roots. That is until now. With Resident Evil 7 Capcom has not only gone back to the roots of the series, they have made a game that literally had me shook all the way until the end.
NIS America has announced that their PS4 port of their PS Vita title Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls will be available on June 27 in North America and June 23 in Europe. - Tons of Different Types of Ammo: Tackle challenges with multiple kinds of Truth Bullets, such as Paralyze and Link. Upgrade your firepower with special Bling Bullet modifiers.
We are just over two weeks away from the release of Capcom’s Resident Evil VII: Biohazard on PS4 with the full game also playable in VR (the only way I’ll be playing) using the PlayStation VR. Here is a little gem that I came across this morning on Merchoid’s website: the Resident Evil VII: Wood, Sweat and Fears 4D VR Candle.
Arc System Works (Guilty Gear series) is teaming up with key members of the Double Dragon 1987 arcade game to release Double Dragon IV on PS4. The game will feature the same 80’s graphic style of the original with Japan as the location this time around.
I have never been a huge fan of sports games outside of arcade titles like NBA Jam and NFL Blitz. I can appreciate games like Madden and NBA 2K but since I don’t really follow sports, sports sims like that are lost on me and do not hold my interest for more than a day or two.
If you have already put some time into Final Fantasy XV then you have most likely already noticed that Cup Noodle is a part of the game’s world from billboards to the product itself. Square Enix and Nissin have taken this new partnership a step further with what is now known as Cup Noodle XV. With Cup Noodle XV, the current t.v. spot for Final Fantasy XV has been edited to now include Cup Noodle in key scenes from the game. Check out Cup Noodle XV below:

During my recent trip to Japan for TGS, Persona 5 was released. I struggled with the idea of buying it then and there but since my Japanese is limited and the game had no English subtitles, I decided to just wait it out for the North American release. Sigh.
One complaint many Mafia III players have voiced is the lack of character customization the game has for its main character. While Mafia III‘s star Lincoln Clay does sport different outfits during the course of the game, they happen at predetermined points in the story and it doesn’t happen often. 2K Games released a patch that not only added some bug fixes and improvements, but also added 11 new outfits to choose from. The update is available for all player and it’s free.

I’d like to start this review off by saying that I’m a strong believer of not judging a game by its promo art. That said, promo art exists for a reason, and sometimes, for better or for worse, what you see is exactly what you get. This holds especially true for Super Dungeon Bros. SDB is, in essence a multiplayer dungeon crawler. It can be played solo, but at your own peril; there are countless enemies and the process of taking them all on by one’s self is exhausting and not particularly rewarding. SDB itself is very reminiscent of the Gauntlet series, though with very noticeable differences, namely the cartoon-ish feel of the graphics and the overtly “Bro” theme prominently featured at every turn. There’s something about retro-themed games that never really goes out of style; whether it’s a true old-school classic, or something new done in a way that reminds us of the past. Maybe it’s the sense of nostalgia they provide, or maybe it’s the fact that they generally have fairly simple game mechanics that are easy to learn but take time and dedication to master, but there’s an art to finding the delicate balance between blandly simple, enticingly challenging, and frustratingly difficult. And to be perfectly honest, Exile’s End does a nice job finding the midway point on that scale.
When the tech world started to fully embrace VR just a few short years ago I couldn’t bring myself to care. I have not been one for trends and have been let down by console peripherals on more than one occasion. I had no intentions on picking up Project Morpheus (now PlayStation VR) when it was first announced and I even deliberately skipped out on testing the headset at several industry events. I finally caved at E3 2015 and decided to see what the PS4’s VR add on could do. I sat down and tested out Rigs, a title I had not heard of at the time. Needless to say after playing it again several times, I preordered a launch bundle as soon as it was possible to do so. Now that the PlayStation VR is finally available and I have had a few days to put that preordered bundle to the test, here are my thoughts on the PSVR itself and some of the games I picked up at launch.
The Elder Scrolls is set to suck away all our free time yet again. First with the Skyrim Special Edition coming to PS4 later this month and next with Skyrim Monopoly. After a really rough start on Friday, the multiplayer beta for Call of Duty Infinite Warfare kicked off for the weekend. While the beta was supposed to end this morning at 10 a.m. PDT, Activision and Infinity Ward have decided to give players an extension. The first beta period will now end on October 18th at 10 a.m. PDT giving players an extra 24 hours to get familiar with the game. Happy “camping”.
[UPDATE] The title of the game is officially Red Dead Redemption 2 and not the rumored Red Dead Retribution.
Fans of 2010’s Red Dead Redemption have been clamoring for a sequel to Rockstar’s epic western adventure for nearly a decade now. Lately there have been a lot of rumors surrounding the inevitable sequel ranging from a leaked map of the game to Rockstar pulling the trailer for it from PlayStation’s E3 2016 Press Conference. Now Rockstar Games has changed the cover photos and profile pics on their social media accounts to a nice red and black suggesting something Red Dead related is on the way.
