Journey to Japan: Tokyo Game Show 2016

Whenever the subject of what I wanted to do with my life was discussed, not once was Journalism ever something I considered. I have always been an artist with a love for video games not reporting the news. I did however spend a considerable amount of time posting movie and video game reviews to my blog on MySpace (I know I have just dated myself) many centuries ago. It was then I was offered the opportunity to write my reviews for an upcoming, video game themed social network called PSN Friends. While the year or so I spent doing this did not spark an interest in Journalism in me, I did realize that my love of all things gaming needed to be channeled creatively and so I formed my own social network in 2009 called PlayStation Haven. Attack on Titan Review

  • Publisher: Koei Tecmo
  • Developer: Omega Force
  • Release Date 08/30/2016
  • Console: PlayStation 4

I loaded this game for the first time half expecting it to be a quick license cash in with very little substance. After all, games based on movies or television programs tend to be rushed with very little effort made to providing an actual fun experience. Attack on Titan proved to be an exception to this long-standing rule. Attack on Titan (AoT) is very obviously based on the anime of the same name. Large, man-eating, humanoid creatures known as Titans have forced humanity into hiding in a town with the large wall as the only real deterrent. Humanity has been safe within these walls for 100 years when all of a sudden a Titan with the strength to destroy the walls attacks and the town becomes overrun with the creatures. The game takes place within and even beyond the anime’s first season and puts player in control of different key characters throughout the span of the story.
